Examples of Home or Business Security Automation:
Automatically control lighting in areas to ensure occupation health and safety is covered:
Imagine you have a warehouse with many high bay lights (Which are expensive to run at 400 watts per unit) or an office building with many fluorescent lights. You need to ensure the lighting is on at important periods for safety but are frustrated by staff not remembering to turn the lights off during brighter periods of the day. Sometimes the lighting is left on all day costing a small fortune to run (Not to mention maintenance and lamp life / replacement) and you want to maximize energy savings by having the lighting off where possible as this may literally save you thousands of dollars per year.
Logical Services can provide a solution where the lighting is automatically controlled ensuring the lighting is only on when the natural light falls below a set threshold (Adjustable), the security system is disarmed (i.e. the area is theoretically occupied) and there is movement in the area (detected by the security motion detectors in "Automation" mode during disarmed periods). If there is no movement detected for a period of time (Adjustable) then the lighting will turn off and will only turn back on when motion is detected in the area again. Also the lighting will turn off instantly when enough natural light is present or the security system is armed. This type solution will ensure your energy management and cost is controlled and before too long you will probably notice the solution has paid for itself and is now starting to save/make you money! Automatically control a "Mood" in your premises by pressing a single button to initiate closing of curtains, dimming groups of lights to defined levels, and arming the exterior security zones of your premises. Great for applications such as home theatres or office boardroom audio visual displays (Also see our Audio Visual Service page).
Automatically shut down heating and air conditioning when the premises are unoccupied:
Most climate control systems work on a seven day time clock where the system will start up and shut down at particular times of the day and maintain your desired temperature. Climate control systems are usually one of the biggest overheads for a premises contributing a significant amount to the total energy used and therefore reflected in the electricity account. A classic example of energy wastage is at times where the premises is unoccupied (i.e. public holiday or simply no one at the premises) where the 7 day time clock has no automation for this type of event so it continues to operate all day wasting energy (and money) controlling climate in an area that isn't even occupied!
Logical Services provides solutions where the climate is only controlled when the area is actually occupied which may literally save you thousands of dollars per year.
Automatically control equipment remotely
for a premises:
If you want to turn the heating, cooling or even such luxuries as the spa heater on before you get to your premises, you can do so remotely from any phone including from your mobile phone whilst you are on the way.
Logical Services can provide many customised solutions.
You arrive at your premises and push
the button on your remote control:
This opens the garage door and or automatic gates, the security system disarms, "Welcome Home" lighting comes on (Only if it is at night), your favorite CD starts playing softly throughout the premises, the air-conditioning system starts cooling or heating to your desired temperature etc.
Logical Services can interface many devices to make a process easy and automatic.
You have a 'Touch Screen' located centrally:
The touch screen provides a touch sensitive LCD screen that can display "pages" of "components". Components are graphical items that perform a function when pressed. A touch screen can be a simple command control unit or it can be a touch screen that provides digital TV, internet and video surveillance as well! Put it in as a feature in the kitchen for all the "Bells and Whistles" you need.
Logical Services provides fully customised solutions for any project. We have even produced multi lingual touch screen applications for those houses with non-English speaking residents.
Building Automation

Building automation plays a vital role in making premises more cost efficient and in reducing its greenhouse gas emissions.
Your heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting systems can all be integrated and automated via one centralised management system.
Thus significant savings in energy cost and in administrative costs can be achieved.
An intelligent access control system can for example: track the movement of users within the building and send commands to the lighting control system to ensure that these services are only operational in particular sections of the building whilst those sections are occupied. Control of these services may be further qualified by time schedules. Read about access control devices and systems.

Security Integration
What type of security integration can be achieved?
Your security system can be seamlessly integrated to your building automation system to allow for convenient features such as:
Mobile phone control of building automation devices through the secure GSM interface to the security system. This method allows for pin numbers to be required for control of devices.
SMS control and feedback of automation features.
Telephone "Touch Tone" control and feedback of automation features where simple tones are heard in the telephone handset and pressing the telephone number buttons activates building automation or security commands at the premises.

Inner Range "Insight" security camera system integration
Devices can be automatically shutdown / started up upon security system arming, disarming or alarm activation such as turn on/off lights, airconditioning, heating etc. Great energy savings for both the environment and your budget.
Non essential lighting and power can be turned off when the security system is armed such as power to water boilers, signage and displays. Certain lights can be turned on when the security system is disarmed to enable courtesy lighting. The system is even smart enough to sense whether it is dark so lights don't come on during the day!
Power can be isolated if smoke detectors are alarmed to ensure the electric supply is not fueling any potential fire.
Devices such as electric roller doors can be interfaced to ensure, whilst the security system is armed, the roller doors cannot be opened.
We have also provided many unique application specific automation solutions and they are a normal part of our daily routine.
